How the Salem Witch Trials Affects Us Today

"The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie, deliberate, contrived and dishonest, but the myth, persistent, persuasive and unrealistic."

-John F. Kennedy

"A lie cannot live."

Martin Luther King, Jr.

The Salem Witch Trials affects today because it teaches everyone how far and extreme a lie can go. It also proves as an example of tragedy and disobedience, relaying to today's society the effects of wrong choices.  Today we can learn from their mistakes and improve our decisions now. We can use our rights of choices to improve the rights of others rather than end them. We can also take responsibility for when we do make a wrong and own up to our mistakes. This event in history shows that sometimes the most dangerous thing ever can be a simple lie.
